Earlier this month we rode our bacchanal urges in Erotic Ride. As a quest for spiritual meaning inevitably follows the growth-release of hedonism, BEnt's next ride will be a journey through both space and Self. On Sunday, June 16th, from 9:30AM to 10.30PM, we're having what I hope will be the first of an annual expedition into the transcendental: Gods of India Ride. I. FULL MOON RIDE - 5/24/13  But first we're joining forces with 100+ riders from our fav clubs this Friday for Full Moon Ride. Ducati Owners Club says “We ride up to the mountains at night and howl at the full moon like wolves…If you haven't done this before, you should! It's awesome watching 100 bikes twist up the mountain...If you have GoPro's, BRING THEM! For NJ riders, we will meet at the 1st Gas Station on the Palisades going North from the GWB...at 9pm SHARP!!!" 8:30 PM kickstands up

II. GODS OF INDIA RIDE - 6/16/13 1. Fire Lotus Temple Meditation 9.30AM - 12.30PM  We meet here by 9.30 sharp. We’ll be instructed in zazen, Zen Buddhist meditation. The aim of zazen is suspending all judgmental thinking and letting words, ideas, images and thoughts pass by without getting involved in them. Fire Lotus Temple* 500 State Street Brooklyn, NY 11217 2. Temple Run  After this potentially transformative intro to Zen meditation, we’ll ride to a sacred Hindu Temple through Bear Mountain. Sri Ranganatha Temple 8 Ladentown Rd Pomona, NY 10970 If you’re not fasting for the ride (which is what I recommend as part of the spiritual thingy) bring lunch as we'll chill and eat there. Obviously we all gotta show Respect to both Temples. |
3. Gods of India Rooftop Party (circa 6 -10.30PM)  We ride back like Lord Vishnu on his dragon chariot into the city, to a ridiculous party by Carmel Productions called, you guessed it, Gods of India. YOU MUST COME WITH A COSTUME. If you have safety concerns, for example you prefer to wear leathers esp for the Temple Run portion, put the costume in your backpack. You are encouraged to be as creative as you want to be. At the very least, orange, white or pastel sheets, Egyptian eyeliner, and sandals in your backpack on the ready should do the trick.
